Identity Theft: How it Happens & Tips on Preventing It

Here is what the Federal Trade Commission says:

“Identity theft occurs when someone uses your personally identifying information, like your name, Social Security number, or credit card number, without your permission, to commit fraud or other crimes.

The FTC estimates that as many as 9 million Americans have their identities stolen each year. In fact, you or someone you know may have experienced some form of identity theft.”

Understanding how identity theft happens and what you can do to prevent it will be the main topics of this workshop. Candy will also include useful information on one of the best ways to know if you have become a victim of identity theft: Getting a copy of your credit report and learning how to interpret it.

Candy has been married to Britt Smith (a.k.a. “Granny” at the 07 National Conference) for 21+ years. They have three children, Glenn, Hannah and Grace.
